Between DEPARTURE And Autumn Fest: The Eight-Week Loganville Calendar Your Neighbors Are Actually Using

If you have lived in Loganville for more than a summer, you already know Main Street runs on a third-Friday clock from May through September. What most write-ups miss is what happens between the last note of the concert series and the first booth of Autumn Fest, and how the new places opening around Main and Atlanta Highway are quietly built around that eight-week window.

This is a resident's calendar for the stretch from mid-August through mid-October 2026. No destination framing. Just what is on the Town Green, who is opening their doors around it, and how locals are stringing it together.

The Town Green rhythm, from now to October

The concert series and the fall festival are the two poles. Everything else fits between them.

Live music takes over the Town Green at 235 Main Street at 7:30 p.m. on the third Friday of each month from May through September, and food and drink vendors are on hand or you can bring your own picnic. Beer and wine is permitted. That last detail matters more than it sounds. It is the reason the Town Green functions as an outdoor living room instead of a stage-and-audience setup, and it is why the two concerts left in the 2026 series are worth planning around even if the headliner is not your usual radio dial.

August 21 brings DEPARTURE, a Journey tribute band, playing 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. on the Town Green. September's third Friday closes the series. After that, the Green goes quiet for a few weeks before the biggest crowd of the year shows up.

What the September gap is really for

The three-week pause between the September concert and the October 3 car show is the part of the calendar people forget to plan for. Downtown does not empty out. It resets.

The City of Loganville works with the Master's Car Club to host two car shows in the downtown area; the Back the Blue car show on October 3 runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with proceeds benefiting the Loganville Police Department. If you have kids who have aged out of the Kids Zone at Autumn Fest but not out of wanting to be downtown on a Saturday, this is the show to walk them to. Parking gets tight around 10:30. Locals who know park east of the square and walk in.

Two weekends later, the scale shifts entirely. Autumn Fest is the largest event around, with more than 175 vendors filling Main Street on the third Saturday in October, thousands descending on downtown for live music, performances from local dance and theater groups, food, arts and crafts vendors, and a Kids Zone with dozens of activities for children. The festival begins October 17, 2026 at 10 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m.

The practical read: if you live within walking distance of Main, treat October 17 as a no-car day. If you live off Highway 78 or south toward Grayson, arrive before 10 or after 1.

The food floor got rearranged this year

Here is the piece the generic write-ups miss. The eating and gathering options around the Green have shifted enough in the last twelve months that a resident who last did a downtown night in early 2025 is working from an outdated map.

Loganville Soul Food, at 3895 Loganville Highway, is the newest sit-down addition. Loganville Soul Food celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting on October 31, and the family-owned restaurant is proudly serving the heart of Gwinnett County. Established in 2025, its mission is to bring authentic Southern comfort food in a warm, welcoming atmosphere, specializing in freshly prepared, home-style dishes from traditional recipes passed down through generations, from golden fried chicken and tender collard greens to savory mac and cheese and sweet cornbread. On concert Fridays, they see the pre-show wave between 5:30 and 6:45.

Whataburger opened at 4764 Atlanta Highway on March 23, 2026. It is not a downtown restaurant, but the operating details are useful. The Loganville restaurant employs approximately 90 local team members, led by Operating Partner Harley Newsome. Whataburger is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 364 days a year (closed Christmas Day). The restaurant features a custom Loganville mural and framed athletic jerseys from Loganville High School displayed in the lobby. Translation: this is where the post-concert crowd and the after-game Friday crowd from Loganville High end up at 10:15 p.m., because everything else on Main is closing.

Tacos N Beer Grill and Bar is the rooftop concept at 262 Main Street. For most of 2024, visitors to downtown Loganville watched the first rooftop restaurant going up at 262 Main Street, and everybody waited in anticipation for it to open following the announcement that Tacos N Beer Grill and Bar was the restaurant coming to that location. If you have not been on the rooftop for a Groovin' on the Green Friday, that is the sightline test. You can hear the concert from up there.

Game On Main is the new indoor option for the same block. Game On Main is an arcade/game room with a variety of new games, classic arcade cabinets, pinball, air hockey, and more, positioned as a space to bring in food and drinks from any of the Main Street restaurants, pop in after some shopping, school, or during one of the City of Loganville's events. This is the rainy-Friday backup and the middle-schooler holding zone during Autumn Fest.

The pattern to notice: the newer Main Street concepts were designed to lean on the Green, not compete with it. Rooftop with a sightline. Arcade with a bring-your-own-food policy. That is a downtown maturing, not a downtown expanding.

How residents actually string it together

A few honest patterns from the calendar above.

• August 21 Friday. Walk-in dinner at Loganville Soul Food between 5:15 and 6:00. Coolers and low chairs at the Green by 7:00. DEPARTURE at 7:30. If you have teenagers, they will be at Game On Main by 8:15 and want a ride home at 10.
• September third Friday. Same rhythm, last one of the year. This is the concert to bring the out-of-town parents to if they have been asking what you do in Loganville on weekends.
• October 3 Saturday. Back the Blue car show 9–3. Coffee before, lunch on Main after, home by mid-afternoon.
• October 17 Saturday. Autumn Fest 10–4. Assume 175 vendors and thousands of visitors. Park once, stay for the whole window.

That is a small claim, and it is the kind of claim you can only make if you live here. Which is the point.
